The internationally renowned indie rock duo Cari Cari (Alexander Koeck, Stephanie Widmer) - celebrated by Rolling Stone as one of the greatest live discoveries in Europe - is going on a world tour in 2025 with concerts in Europe, Canada, and the USA. What a great honor that these fantastic musicians are also coming to Lienz to present their album "One More Trip Around The Sun"! Specifically on August 28 in the courtyard of Bruck Castle.
Cari Cari"s third studio album is more than just a collection of songs: It is a tribute to aging, a declaration of love to family and friends, and a promise to remain true to oneself and one"s values - away from short-lived trends and consistently against the current. Because Cari Cari has always swum against the tide. Despite the upcoming world tour and accolades from BBC Radio 1, Rolling Stone, and NME, the band remains a family business.
Cari Cari impressively demonstrated their willingness to stand up for their values when they publicly criticized the embarrassingly low fees for orchestral musicians in a TV broadcast. The accompanying video went viral and sparked a broad discussion in cultural policy. Under the focus of "Fair Pay," Austria has since provided an additional 25 million euros to ensure minimum fees - a tangible success that shows how much music can achieve.
The album is about love, childhood, places that are a home for the band, the wheel of time spinning faster and faster, and an endless stream of bad news. Alexander Koeck and Stephanie Widmer reflect on their fears and the joy of doing things simply for their own sake.
"One More Trip Around The Sun" remains true to Cari Cari"s distinctive sound: the characteristic combination of jew"s harp, didgeridoo, and their unique sonic world - a clear statement against short-lived musical trends. It is a yes to Cari Cari"s vision, to music that feels real, and to the people who matter most to them. That"s why their family and friends also grace the album cover.
