New Year"s concert of the City Music Band Wilten

Town Music Band Wilten

The name of the Town Music Band Wilten is derived from the oldest district of Innsbruck Wilten, located in the south of the city, at the foot of the historically and traditionally significant Bergisel. In old documents of the Wilten Monastery, the founding year of the Music Band Wilten is documented as 1650 - back then still as one of the parish music groups formed at that time.

The band experienced a great upswing after World War II. It became known at home and abroad and was transformed into a symphonic wind orchestra. Since 2020, conductor Raimund Walder has been at the conductor"s stand of the "Wiltener".
The Wiltener Academy was established several years ago as an institution that is intended to be groundbreaking for its own association work as well as for the development of wind music in the country.
